An answer you can cook from.
Ingredients, timing and directions have their own place. The illustrated header is generated interface artwork, not a food photograph.
Why I did this
I wanted to make an AI cooking assistant useful beyond a wall of chat. The challenge was turning an open-ended question into something easy to scan, save and use while cooking.
Three ways into the conversation.
Start with what you have, what you crave or what you want to understand. Suggested prompts make the first step clear.
How I did it
I used Gemini’s structured responses to render recipes, cooking answers and craving alternatives as distinct cards. Editable preferences and saved dish names add context to later requests; streaming keeps the conversation moving.
Keep the useful parts. Correct the rest.
Favourites reopen without another AI request. Visible, removable preference chips let people correct what the assistant remembers.
Outcomes
The result is a working capstone with ingredient checklists, saved recipes and conversation history. These stay in the same browser, without an account. Personalisation is implemented; improvements in cooking habits or nutrition have not been measured.
